The Chocobo Knight Rides Again

At least, I think he does. Oh man, the pressure...

Quieter Than Usual at Your Chocobo's Paradise + Caring for Sheep?!

Celes and Gau are both on the Earth Quest, so things are fairly quiet here. I'm looking forward to getting things officially started with Gau once the quest is over. And I'm sure that Celes will be glad to be back here with the chocobos once the quest is over. Celes seems like she's been kinda distracted lately...

I hope everybody's adjusting well to their new apartments. I don't really understand much what goes on between my new neighbors, Squall and Rinoa. The termites around here are pretty bad-- I hope that this exterminator quest I heard about will take care of some of that. This is a very nice little village, though. I haven't found any chocobos yet, but there are a whole bunch of sheep here! We've been getting along just great and I've been thinking of expanding into caring for sheep. It seems they've had some problems with herding recently, so I brought over one of the chocobos and it turns out that they make excellent sheep-herders.

So what does everyone think? Should I maybe start tending sheep on the side?

Thrilled!

The Defenders of Gaia won their first match in the current blitzball tournament. We shut out our opponents 2-0. I couldn't be more thrilled. We shut out the Mystics 2-0-- but that's not to say you guys didn't play a good game. It looked to me like you had some pretty good moves, but things didn't go your way. Not that I'm discounting my team's skills either, of course.

Celes, about the party... )

Shaken, Plus Automatic Nothing...

[info]clasko42
While I have been largely distanced from this week's events, I must admit that I was quite shaken by the recent death of one of my shop's chocobos. Okay, I admit it-- sometimes I still have doubts about this whole venture and whether it was really a good idea to come to the mall in the first place. Nothing ever seems to work out entirely right for me...

But maybe I just need to shake it off. That's in the past now. Also in the past is the automatic feeding system, as Celes mentioned. We both feel strongly that a personal touch is best when it comes to chocobos. Shortcuts like automatic feeding may seem convenient, but trust me when I say that for the best development of chocobos, all their handling should be hands-on.

Personally, I haven't been too bothered by not being able to leave the mall.

Umm...

Things are bit crazy in the mall this week. Personally, I'm hoping just not really get involved in all this. It's a bit weird to me. I've never killed anyone before, nor have I ever died, so I can't say what it's like. I suppose if anyone wants to kill me, I'll just have to deal with it. A new experience? I'm kinda worried...

Your Chocobo's Paradise remains open. If all of this is a bit confusing to you, too, why not stop by Your Chocobo's Paradise and escape the pressure?

Ugly...

But I really don't care. All the fuss was getting to be a bit much really. It's back to concentrating on chocobos for me. And yeah, the sudden desire for breeding has stopped, but that's fine. There's been more than enough of that lately that little more is going to be needed for a fair while. I think I'll spend some time with those black chocobos that came in recently. They seem to have settled well into their forest home and it's time to start on some more advanced training...

Your Chocobo's Paradise

I'm fully rested from my trip and back to handling the majority of operations at Your Chocobo's Paradise that my staff had been covering. In fact, I'm giving them each a rotating series of days off so they can have a chance to relax too and will fill in myself where needed.

To those of you that have chocobos-- you will likely be hearing from me sometime this week. I want to check in on how you're doing and possibly interview you on your experiences so far.

Celes, you've been doing a great job! The chocobos seem very happy, contented and appreciative of your care. I know that you can't have a chocobo at this time, but I don't suppose there's any way I could tempt you to become an employee?

A Curiosity...

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm beginning to see that riding an airship can be almost as fun as riding a chocobo. To be honest, now that I think about it, it's always been the caring for the chocobos that I've liked, rather than actually riding on chocobo-back. There's something about riding on airships that feels safe, whereas though I like riding on chocobos, there's always that worry that I'm going to fall off.

Anyways, I've been riding these ships for a while and about to make the final connection back to Mallboro. This trip has been fun and informative, but it's time to get back to Your Chocobo's Paradise.

Clasko's Chocologue: Day 5

I returned to my homeworld of Spira to find out that Elma has finally formed back up the Chocobo Knights! She tried to recruit me, amazingly enough, but my days as a knight are over. Still, it was good to see her again. Lucil's not part of the knights-- she's too busy overseeing activities in the Youth League these days, but Elma is now Captain and has a promising young group under her command.

You may recall that I lost the chocobo ranch in the Calm Lands and so I came to Mallboro. Well, when I lost the ranch, it seems that the chocobos I had there were let go and ended up escaping loose into the Calm Lands. They're pretty flooded with chocobos there these days, but apparently it's just added part of the tourist attraction. They've even set up a pretty fun chocobo game there.

I also visited the Mi'ihen Highroad, where you can now see chocobos and hovercrafts side-by-side. They've even set up special chocobo crossings so that no chocobos get injured.

All in all, this visit was a pretty nice break from some of the crazier stuff I've been through during this trip. Later today I head for the "merged" fifth world, where I hear they have some very interesting chocobos...

Clasko's Chocologue: Day 4
Chocobo, Clasko, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy
[info]clasko42
Those of you that are keeping track might recall that recently I visited the eighth world and encountered an annoying child named Chocoboy who charged me for some ridiculous overpriced whistle to try to catch chocobos in the forests of that world. Well, I returned to the forests only to discover that the Chocoboy was not there any longer. Yeah, it seems his mother discovered what he was doing, and that he's been sneaking out without permission. He's been grounded!

Gone are the days of overpriced whistles and information. It seems that the entire operation is now being subsidized by Trabia. They took me in at this fantastic Garden, which apparently at time suffered a horrific missile attack, but now has been fully repaired. It seems people really took an interest in their restoration, so much so that they now have more funding than they know what to do with and are giving back. As part of their efforts, they've launched research into the breeding habits and raising of chocobos within their world, in the hopes of fostering goodwill.

They gave me my very own pet chicobo, which I've decided to call Chococil, after Captain Lucil. She may be small now, but I can already tell that she will grow into a brave and noble chocobo. After spending some time with them, they directed me to their sister Garden, Balamb Garden, where I've been having a fantastic ride. It's like a sort of place of learning that flies! I've seen this world from it, and it's beautiful. But I really do need to get some rest, as tomorrow I return to my own world, and check up on how things are going there, and what the latest is with the chocobos.

Clasko's Chocologue: Day 2
scratching
[info]clasko42
My research on chocobos in Ivalice continued. That Larsa really is a nice guy. Together we saw the "Bull Chocobo." He has the ability to send forth these most amazing comets. Fortunately, the two of us were well-protected by something called a "Paling," so no worries.

After that, Larsa had to get back to home, but he provided me with a skipper to explore more of Ivalice. I chose to visit Rozarria, a region of Ivalice that has apparently been closed off to much of the general populace of Ivalice until recently. In fact, I don't think they really wanted to let me in at first, but Larsa pulled some strings and I was allowed as a "visiting dignitary." For a day, I was "Minister of Avian Affairs." Oh, the chocobos they have there! Thing is, upon getting ready to leave, I was intercepted by an official who told me that everything I saw is classified. And apparently if I reveal any details of what I saw, they'll know. Still, I think I may be able to put some of it to good use at Your Chocobo's Paradise, without actually telling anything.

Now, I travel to the Seventh World, the Planet. I'm really exciting about this, as I read that chocobos are seen in the wild in abundance there and this is the world of chocobo racing. It'll be nice to actually place a bet for a change, instead of just announcing them...
